สะพานคอย 100 ปี
การรอคอยใครสักคน มันอาจยากเกินจะทนต่อความทุกข์ทรมาน จนทำให้ใครคนนั้นสูญสิ้นต่อการรอคอย แต่คงใช้ไม่ได้สำหรับสถานที่แห่งนี้ ด้วยกว่าศตพรรษมันถึงจะสิ้นสุดการรอคอย
สะพานคอยร้อยปีมีความยาวถึง 345 เมตร ได้ถูกปรับปรุงจากเดิมเป็นเพียงสะพานไม้ทอดยาวข้ามผ่านแม่น้ำตากใบ จากแผ่นดินใหญ่ไปสู่เกาะยาว ซึ่งปัจจุบันได้มีการสร้างสะพานปูนแข็งแรงและสวยงามทอดยาวขนาบไปกับสะพานไม้อันเก่า เป็นเส้นทางหลักในการสัญจรของชาวบ้าน
ในส่วนที่มาของชื่อสะพานนั้นเล่าต่อกันมาว่า เมื่อก่อนชาวบ้านในเกาะยาวหากจะเดินทางมายังฝั่งที่ว่าการอำเภอต้องใช้เรือ คือต้องเดินทางโดยเรือกันเป็น 100 ปี จึงได้มีการสร้างสะพานระหว่างเกาะยาวไปยังฝั่งที่ว่าการอำเภอ
One-Hundred Years Bridge
Waiting for someone, tt may be too difficult to endure the suffering until causing that person to lose their patience for waiting. But, it might not work for this place with more than a century that it will end the waiting.
The one-hundred-year bridge is 345 meters long and renovated the original wooden bridge spanning across TakBai River from the mainland to Koh Yao. Presently, a strong and beautiful cement bridge was built along with the old wooden bridge. It is the main route for villagers.
The story of the original bridge’s name, it had been said that in the past, Koh Yao villagers used a boat to come to the district for 100 years. After that, a bridge was built between Koh Yao and the district office.
